Asis G’dogolwyr

The G’dogolwyr has traditionally been divided into two main commands. The Asis G’dogo and the Daecis G’dogo. The Daecis is the primary command responsible for the defense of Easky’s borders, mainly that shared with Kryst, but also of the once relatively peaceful border with Creevin. After so many decades of constant war with Kryst, Easky’s infrastructure and war-making ability was crumbling. Resources, what little there were, we diverted to the Daecis. The Asis, traditionally an expeditionary command, responsible for campaigns of opportunity up and down the Morandi coastline over the generations, was stagnant, under-staffed and existed primarily on paper until 1778. With Loeck’s rise to power he now controlled the purse strings of the Western Crusade and therefore Easky’s military spending.

Working with Caenerol Marsk, a storied tractor commander during the early Crusade, Loeck envisioned a land based replacement for the Airmobile assets that had been recalled to Tok upon news of Alykinder’s death. Veteran Crusader tractor officers joined their Easkovite allies and working in secret developed new doctrine and training programs. Using their years of fighting back and forth from Coftyr to Creevin to Leitrom they built upon already highly successful Crusader tactics, but now adapted for speed and maneuverability rather than firepower.

The mechanized doctrine urged concentration of firepower, speed and initiative. Smaller pockets of hold-outs or defensive works were bypassed in favor of advancing on objectives and left to follow-on waves to neutralize. Keeping large, fast, fuel-guzzling tractors on the attack was a large logistical puzzle handled ably by long columns of support vehicles capable of crossing the large prairie and grasslands of eastern Creevin.

On the 1st of Haelwyn 1781 the Asis invasion force took advantage of the second Arnyaran wave of attacks into Creevin in the west and launched their surprise attack into Creevin.

Asis G’dogo in Creevin

The Asis G’dogo will primarily be covered in this tome. The military units deployed within the Daecis G’dogo and Easky proper in their never ending fight with Kryst will be covered in   future volumes. The Asis G’dogo is organized into two armies. Total forces in the Creevish theatre are 380,000.

The Asis G’dogo line catrawds deployed to Creevin are almost all mechanized rhyfler units. This new concept in Quar warfare resulted in some shocking and rapid early victories in Easky’s foray into north eastern Creevin. Over the preceding decade most front line units have been retrained and equipped with Easky’s newest tractors: the Ikyth and the Ghrykyn. The principal innovation has been Easky’s manufacturing of tractors equipped with manageable dual engines. In the case of the Ikyth and the Ghrykyn these are housed in the sides of the tractor’s chassis and each drive a track separately. This has provided Easky with the fastest large tractors in the west. Other benefits of this configuration of engines is the ability to mount a large central cannon on the Ikyth and a through and through cargo hold on the Ghrykyn.

Army Field Divisions

21 Divisions or equivalents in theatre.

Army Group North Salient – 1st Asis

Caenerol Ollijits, commanding. The North Salient was the first true test of Mechanized Warfare. The task of crossing the border into Creevin and investing Hafjor in 18hrs, would have been rejected by any commanding Caenerol on Alwyd worth their swagger sticks. Ollijits, a key architect of the invasion plan also carried it out. To a shocking level of success. Many of Alwyd’s military leaders, as they learn of these events, chalk the victory up to the poor state of affairs in Creevin, lack of leadership, or both, refusing to acknowledge that the Crusade and its allies have once again advanced the art of warfare on Alwyd.

The Army is currently refitting for a push west, once the weather turns in their favor, with the goal of investing the city of Signan and cutting the Invevenverta peninsula off from Creevin proper.

Army Group South Salient – 2nd Asis

Caenerol Borgausyn, commanding. The South Salient Army is half-again as large as the North Salient. Tasked with taking and holding more ground within Creevin required a larger support structure and the means to defend the ground once taken. Borgausyn has been unexpectedly stopped cold by the Fidwogger intervention. GHQ, in Easky proper, is scrambling to move quar and material to the southern front in hopes of rolling north and west and making contact with the North Salient forces. A corp of Daecis G’dogo units, including engineers, is being quickly moved to the southern front in hopes of pinning the Fidwoggers in place along the Aeritini as the mechanized army attempts to maneuver away.

Asis G’dogolwyr Unit Organization

Asis Mechanized Division

An Asis mechanized division is one of the largest divisional structures on Alwyd. Nearly 25000 quar and almost 2000 vehicles make up this massive organization. The logistics to maintain an Asis division in open warfare is something never seen before and a task best suited to the Crusader supply chains and diligent attention to logistical details.

The division consists of 4 infantry brigades, a mechanical brigade and a small support train. Primary logistical support is provided by the army level support cadre.

Each infantry brigade contains an HQ company and six mechanized regiments. Each mechanized regiment is made up of an HQ section and 12 mechanized companies.

The mechanical brigade includes a short Ikyth gun tractor regiment, an autoped equipped scout regiment and a ”Running Spares”regiment. The ”Running Spares” regiment consists of the divisional tractor spares. These spares keep pace with the advance and are used to quickly replace broken down or damaged/destroyed tractors to keep the entire unit on the move. These wrecked tractors are left on the field for the follow-on support cadres to collect and repair.

The Asis cavalry and scout divisions have essentially the same overall TO&E as a mechanized division. However, they forego the Ikyth and Gyflaem tractors in favor of the faster Ghrykyn and Snokyr autopeds. These divisions form the vanguard and flanks of any army level maneuvering among Asis units.

Asis Mechanized Infantry Company

The core of the Easky fighting force is the mechanized company. The mechanized company has so far proven to be a versatile and effective small unit fighting force as it faces its baptism of fire in the invasion of Creevin. The company is divided into 3 sections. Two rhyfler sections with the Ikyth gun tractor functioning as a third section.

Each infantry section, commanded by an is-caerten, is transported in a Ghrykyn armored carriage and includes a small command staff. Cross country the entire section embarks in and on the Ghrykyn while in battle the second squad follows behind the carriage as support.

The Ikyth provides the mechanized company mobile fire support and a solid base of defensive fire when needed.
