Crymuster

The Crymuster fields a force of roughly 3,550,000. The Crymuster armies are roughly split evenly on the western and eastern fronts of Coftyr as she is at war on both sides. A thin line of Militias and green units defend what remains in between and along the Wall. They warily watch their northern border with Maer Braech where the bulk of the Crusader military machine waits.

Of note: The Crymuster uses several non-traditional divisional organizations unique to Coftyr. Siegeworks divisions consist of artillery units, construction vehicles and other foot units integral to siege warfare. Assault Divisions are a relatively new concept for the Crymuster. These divisions do not utilize organic HMG or other heavy weapon units. Instead they are veteran infantry heavily trained for rapid deployment and advancement. This attempt at emulating successful Crusader tactics has yet to prove itself on the field of battle for the Crymuster.

Infantry Division Organization

The traditional Crymuster rhyfler division is organized into 4 brigades. Each of these brigades consists of 8-10 rhyfler regiments. Typically at least 2 regiments per brigade are machine gun or shotgun regiments.

To maintain each division as a self contained fighting force each division contains its own artillery batteries, engineering assets and enough cadier and vehicular transport to move the entire division from place to place. Hospital, mechanical and kitchen units are also organic to a rhyfler division.

Assault divisions typically do not include artillery assets or heavy weapon regiments. Instead, the assault divisions include 2 combat engineer regiments as well as replacing one of the rhyfler brigades with a cavalry brigade.

Divisional Strength:

1456 Officers

19820 Enlisted

64 Heavy Guns

320 HMG/HSGs

4200 Cadier

240 Wagons and Contraptions

Infantry Company

The standard Rhyfler company is composed of 3 officers and 45 enlisted. The company is led by a caerten and a small command staff. The company is divided into two sections each led by an is-caerten. A typical Crymuster rhyfler squad is 10 quar led by a yawdryl and a milwer. The squad is armed with Harlech rifles, Doru submachine-guns with a Cryfen LMG in each squad.

Any hamlet with a population over 1200 must provide, at minimum, a company’s worth of enlisted personnel to the Crymuster outside of any local militia responsibilities also maintained. A typical Crymuster enlistment is for six years.

Tractor Division

A Crymuster tractor division typically is organized into 7-10 tractor regiments. A majority of light tractor regiments will categorize the division as a light tractor division and if heavy regiments form a plurality a heavy division. Most divisions are a mix of regimental size/weight classes.

The division also includes a support brigade of mechanics, fuelers, kitchen and hospital staff as well as a scout company.

Divisional Strength:

364 Officers

6945 Enlisted

450 Light Tractors

180 Heavy Tractors

450 Wagons, Lorries
and Contraptions

Light Tractor Regiment

A Crymuster Light Tractor Regiment consists of 5 companies with each company containing 18 light tractors. After 1754 these companies are equipped with a mixture of light tractor types rather than utilizing a single hull type. Commonly this is a mixture of Chyweethl and Wanamoch tractors as of 1781.

The Gates

CaenerolLysta, commanding. The Gate forces were decimated during the defense of the Wall and subsequent Crusader occupation. The Wall, as much as it currently exists, is defended by a force roughly a third of what it had been before the Crusader invasion. The Royal treasury lacks the funds, and willpower, to make the needed repairs to the Wall or to completely refit and resupply the army that had once defended it, and failed.

Most “Gate Divisions” are divisional strength mixed units of infantry, tractors and artillery.

The Alliance

(Combined force of Gwyntish and Crymuster) – The Royal Heir of Gwynt, commanding. Formerly The Eastern Reaches army, this newly reformed army is the first allied army in the history of the city-state of Gwynt and nation of Coftyr. In return for Gwynt playing a major part in bankrolling the rebuilding of Coftyran infrastructure the Gwyntish Lords requested a front be opened along the Coftyr/Toulmore border to gain access to the trade along the Erwyn River basin.

While the effort did see some early success the Western Arnyaran invasion of Coftyr has drawn much needed resources away from this new front. The army is currently digging in, shy of their objective, to hold the ground they have currently gained.

The Coastal Defenses

Duke Klydd mir Saerfyn III, commanding. For many generations the Coastal Defense army was an easy posting. Light on action, great weather and where ineffective officers were banished to let their careers die. During the Crusade the coastal cliffs of Coftyr became targets of Toulmorese Crusader landings via ship, Crusader Special Branch incursions and several dozen Crusader Airmobile landings. It is now considered an active and crucial front in Coftyr’s defense. The Coastal Defense army is now a training ground for new recruits for the engineering branch as the coastal defenses are being continuously upgraded.
