The Gyflaem is a general purpose mini-tractor typically deployed as a scout, command or general purpose work tractor. The Gyflaem has seen use by the militaries of Easky and of Leitrom. It is a relatively old design but an easy tractor to maintain which has added to its longevity. Many retired Gyflaems have been adopted by farmers across Easky, Creevin, Leitrom and as far south as Maer Braech.
The Gyflaem has a crew of one and a large towing capacity. For a tractor its size it is extremely well armored and a perfect vehicle for Easky’s new mechanized warfare doctrine. Its track system is not particularly suited to cross country use but is sufficient to serve as a mobile headquarters unit for infantry companies and regiments, a common use among Asis foot units. Many Asis officers outside of the mechanized infantry units have commandeered a Gyflaem for personal use during the invasion.
The mk. S version of the tractor was an overhaul first implemented in 1778 to replace the Gyflaem’s older engine with a new Saefyr rotary engine. With this modification the main mechanized infantry support tractors of the Asis were mechanically standardized around Saefyr engines vastly simplifying the logistics structure needed to support the Asis invasion.
The Gyflaem is unarmed but many drivers rig a gun mount or carry personal weapons to defend the vehicle in close quarters. The Gyflaem is design to operate with one hand free, allowing the firing of a weapon or angry gesticulation at the enemy while still steering the tractor. Throttle and brake are handled with foot pedals, much like an auto or lorry and the steering is designed after a kite steering linkage also manufactured by Graenits, Inc.
