The Mogyn is an open topped infantry support tractor. Typically armed with a 65mm smoothbore cannon and a crew of three. The cannon has limited traverse and relies on the deft maneuvering abilities of the tractor’s driver to lay the gun on target. Because of this the tractor’s commander will often precede the tractor on foot spotting targets and directing fire for the tractor often in hull-down or reverse slope defense.
Due to the tractor’s gearing and centrally located driving controls the tractor is almost as fast in reverse as forwards. This has proven quite useful as it has allowed the Mogyn to provide covering fusillades as the Gwyldyfin fall back from position to position as they are relentlessly pursued.
The Mogyn Light Tractor design is nearly 9 decades old. There have been many modifications to the tractor over the decades. Some for the better and some not. The biggest improvements were to its suspension system. Creevish Mogyns almost never have the luxury of paved surfaces. They are continually driven through the mud and muck or over rough grasslands full of ruts and hogrub holes. The suspension is so robust it was copied down to the placement of individual bolts and used in the ubiquitous Crusader Ailthean Light Tractor.
Creevin, caught unaware by the Western Arnyaran onslaught, has had to rely on these older tractors in her defense. The Mogyn was the primary light tractor of the failed Grand Army of Kings and after that debacle Creevin had many thousands of Mogyns abandoned within her borders. The Gwyldyfin is training new crews as fast as they can and deploying demi-squadrons to every hamlet, city and crossroads as the crews come out of ad-hoc tractor schools.
