Morfyd Armored Carriage

The Morfyd is a transport originally designed for major operations on the South Eastern
plains of Creevin, where it was assumed it would carry out major assaults against fortified
trench works. They were mothballed for almost a decade after the Grand Army of Kings
collapsed, until the Fidwogger Overseas Department landed in Creevin in early 1780.
The Morfyd was designed to cross a few hundred yards of no-quar’s land and come
crashing into Crusader trench systems with rhyflers assaulting out of the sides and into the
enemy trench works. The Fiddies, however, commandeered several hundred of the tractors
and used them in their campaigns in the Creevish countryside. Instead of crossing hundreds
of yards the Morfyds criss-crossed over hundreds of miles. The Morfyds have proven quite
robust. Because the heavy treads were designed to soak up HMG and HSG fire as the tractor
crossed through the mud and shelling, they travel the soft plains of Creevin for great distanc-
es with very little maintenance.
They travel not much faster than walking speed but with plenty of scouts on
gwylons and Fynrydhad tractors to screen and scout for the armored convoys. At night
the convoys of Morfyd circle up wherever they may be on the sea of grasslands, light
fires, chug some ale and discuss the latest rumors and scuttlebutt over beetle cakes.
The Morfyd has a crew of 5 and room to carry 26 of the diminutive Fidwoggers and
plenty of gear. The crew consists of a commander, driver, assistant driver, an engineer
and a stevedore. The driver occupies the right sponson and assistant driver the left.
The commander of a Morfyd is typically an NCO and the vehicle itself is in the chain of
command of the infantry or cavalry officer assigned to it.
